Habib Bank Limited (HBL) moved its headquarters from Bombay to Karachi in 1947 at the request of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and began its operations in the newly formed state of Pakistan on August 17, 1947.

Naseem Hameed became a national icon after winning the gold medal in the 100-meter dash at the 2010 South Asian Games (11th SAF Games) in Dhaka, making her the fastest woman in South Asia at the time.
