Ummul-Mu’minīn (RA)

After the victory at Khyber, the Prophet ﷺ married Safiyya (RA). This marriage was both personal and reconciliatory. The other battles did not involve this union.

Ibrahim (RA) was the son of the Prophet ﷺ and Hazrat Maria al-Qibtiyya. Qasim and Abdullah were born to Khadija, while Hasan was the grandson. Ibrahim passed away in infancy in Madinah.

Khadija (RA) was buried at Jannat al-Moalla in Makkah, not at Jannat al-Baqi like most other wives. This cemetery is one of the oldest in Makkah. Her burial there is a reminder of the Makkan struggles.

The Christian king Najashi solemnized the Prophet’s ﷺ marriage to Umm Habiba during her stay in Abyssinia. The other rulers had no such role. This reflects Najashi’s closeness to Islam.

Juwayriya’s original name was Barrah, but the Prophet ﷺ renamed her Juwayriya. Renaming emphasized humility and suitability. Many companions had names changed for better meanings.

Khadija (RA) received a direct salutation from Allah conveyed through Jibrael. None of the other wives had this honor. It reflects her unique status as the first believer.

Ayesha (RA) was the third wife after Khadija and Sauda. She was known for her knowledge and narration of hadith. The others became wives later.

Sauda (RA) expressed her deep admiration for Ayesha (RA) with this statement. It shows the respect among the Prophet’s wives. The others are not recorded to have said this.

Khadija (RA) was buried in Jannat al-Moalla, Makkah, while the others were buried in Jannat al-Baqi, Madinah. This reflects the early Makkan phase.

According to narrations, the Prophet ﷺ did not lead Khadija’s funeral prayer as it was by Allah’s will. This should not be misinterpreted as neglect. Her spiritual station was already high.

Ayesha (RA) was honored with titles like Al-Tayyibeen. Other titles such as Al-Siddiqah also reflect her character. The other options belong to different personalities.

Zainab (RA) was the eldest daughter of the Prophet ﷺ. Fatima was the youngest. The others were in between. Zainab married Abu al-As.

Ummamah (RA), daughter of Zainab, was the Prophet’s granddaughter. She is remembered for the hadith where the Prophet carried her during prayer.

Ruqayyah (RA), wife of Uthman, died on the day of Badr. This is why Uthman did not participate in the battle. The others lived longer.

Umm Kulthum (RA) married Uthman (RA) after Ruqayyah’s death, giving him the title Dhul-Nurayn (the Possessor of Two Lights). None of the others were married to him.

Qasim was born 11 years before Prophethood. He was the Prophet’s first son. He passed away in childhood.

Hasan (RA), elder grandson of the Prophet ﷺ, was given the name Shabbar in Hebrew tradition, meaning “handsome.” Husayn was called Shabbir. These names echoed the lineage of Harun’s sons.

Hasan (RA), the grandson of the Prophet ﷺ, held the Khilafah for about 14 months after the martyrdom of his father, Ali (RA). He later abdicated in favor of Mu‘awiyah to avoid bloodshed, an event remembered as Sulh al-Hasan. The other time periods do not align with historical records.

Hasan (RA) is buried in Jannat-ul-Baqi‘ cemetery in Madinah, along with many members of the Prophet’s family. Karbala is the site of Husayn’s (RA) martyrdom and burial. The others are unrelated.

The Prophet ﷺ had three sons: Qasim, Abdullah (Tayyib/Tahir), and Ibrahim. All passed away in childhood. Some mistakenly add Hasan and Husayn, but they were his grandsons.
