The Shahadah is the declaration "La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad Rasul Allah." It is the foundation of Aqeedah. It requires both belief and action. It is the first pillar of Islam. Without it, one cannot enter Islam.

_Aqeedah_ in Arabic comes from the root _'aqada_ meaning "to tie firmly." It refers to beliefs tied firmly in the heart. In Islam, Aqeedah means the creed regarding Allah, His angels, books, messengers, the Last Day, and Qadar. Correct Aqeedah guides all actions.
