Iqbal Day is a national day celebrated to honor Allama Iqbal, the philosopher and poet who conceived the idea of a separate state for Muslims in South Asia. Special ceremonies are held at his tomb in Lahore (Mazar-e-Iqbal) where the change of guard takes place. Schools and universities hold speech and poetry competitions to educate the youth about his message of 'Khudi' (selfhood) and his vision for the Muslim world.

Eid-ul-Fitr is a major Islamic festival celebrated by Muslims in Pakistan and across the world to mark the conclusion of the 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan. It falls on the first day of Shawwal in the Islamic calendar. The day begins with special communal prayers, followed by the distribution of 'Fitrana' (charity) to the poor, visiting relatives, and preparing traditional sweet dishes like 'Sheer Khurma' or 'Sawaiyan'.

Located on a hill in Hassan Abdal, the shrine of the Muslim saint Wali Kandhari is just above the Gurdwara Panja Sahib. Sikh history records a famous encounter between Guru Nanak and the saint. The proximity of these two sites makes Hassan Abdal a unique example of the overlapping spiritual traditions of Pakistan.
