Citizenship and Residency
Applicants must be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person. Crucially, they must also be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country. The list of eligible countries primarily includes developing nations within the Commonwealth.

Academic Qualification
Candidates are typically required to hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honours, or a second class degree (2:2) and a relevant postgraduate qualification. 04 — The pipeline

Research Scholarship Types and Eligibility:
Begin by identifying which type of Commonwealth Scholarship (e.g., Master's, PhD, Shared, Split-site) you are eligible for and interested in. Review the specific criteria for your chosen program and check if your country is listed as eligible.
Identify a Nominating Body:
Most Commonwealth Scholarships require applicants to be nominated by an approved organization.
