Before the 18th Constitutional Amendment in 2010, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was known as the North-West Frontier Province (NWFP). The name was changed to reflect the ethnic identity of the Pashtun people living in the region.

Karachi, the capital of Sindh, is famously known as the 'City of Lights.' It is the largest city in Pakistan and serves as the country's main financial and industrial center, as well as its primary seaport.

Gilgit-Baltistan was formerly known as 'The Northern Areas' (Shimali Ilaqat). In 2009, through the Gilgit-Baltistan Empowerment and Self-Governance Order, it was given its current name and a more autonomous administrative structure.

Manchar Lake, located in the Jamshoro District of Sindh, is the largest natural freshwater lake in Pakistan. It is an essential ecological site, though it has faced environmental challenges due to pollution and drainage issues.

The Durand Line is the 2,640-kilometer international border between Pakistan and Afghanistan. It was established in 1893 following an agreement between Sir Mortimer Durand and Amir Abdur Rahman Khan.

Swat Valley in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is often called 'The Switzerland of Pakistan' because of its stunning natural beauty, lush green meadows, and snow-capped mountains, making it a premier tourist destination.

The Bolan Pass is located in the Toba Kakar range of Balochistan. Historically, it has been a significant mountain pass connecting Jacobabad and Sibi with Quetta and onwards to Kandahar, Afghanistan.

The total area of Pakistan is recorded as 881,913 sq km. This figure accounts for the four provinces, the Islamabad Capital Territory, and includes the administrative areas of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, reflecting the comprehensive geographical extent of the country.

The total area of Punjab is 205,344 sq km. Punjab is the second-largest province of Pakistan by land area and the most populous, serving as the country's agricultural and industrial heartland due to its fertile plains and extensive canal system.

The total area of Sindh is 140,914 sq km. Located in the southeast of the country, Sindh is home to the Indus River delta and the country's largest city, Karachi, making it a vital region for trade and maritime activities.

Baluchistan is the largest province of Pakistan by land area, covering 347,190 sq km. Despite occupying nearly 44% of the country's total land mass, it is the least densely populated province, characterized by its rugged mountainous terrain and rich mineral resources.

The total area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) is 101,741 sq km. This area includes the regions previously known as the Provincially Administered Tribal Areas (PATA) and reflects the province's geography, which is dominated by the Hindu Kush mountain range.

The total area of the Islamabad Capital Territory is 906.5 sq km. As the federal capital, it is a specially designated area independent of any province, planned in the 1960s to serve as the administrative center of Pakistan.

The total area of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) was 27,220 sq km. This region consisted of seven agencies and six frontier regions before it was officially merged into the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province through the 25th Amendment to the Constitution.

The total area of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) is 13,297 sq km. It is a self-governing administrative territory located in the northern part of the country, known for its scenic valleys and mountainous landscape.

Muzaffarabad is the capital and largest city of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. It is located at the confluence of the Jhelum and Neelum rivers and serves as the administrative and political hub of the territory.
